Researchers from Tver State Technical University are working on creating print materials for buildings. This direction of 3D printing is gaining more and more attention: over the past year several projects from the USA, Italy and China have received publicity. The attention of developers is mainly turned to quite standard cement, as a consumable. At the same time, the Chinese company WinSun, which recently completed the demonstration printing of two buildings, uses a cement mixture with additives from construction waste. This approach is favorable for the environment, allowing the disposal of non-decomposable waste. Apparently, the Tver scientists decided to follow a similar path. The doctor of technical sciences Vladimir Belov explains: “This is a mixture based on a waterproof gypsum binder, in which to increase the strength of the product crushed fiberglass and solid household waste such as cullet, polymers, paper and cardboard will be introduced. Thus, we get a building mass that will quickly harden when printed. ” As we can see, the new material can help with the disposal of municipal solid waste and fiberglass. Belov cites as an example one of the Tver enterprises that generates about 30 tons of fiberglass waste that goes straight to the landfill. If the developers succeed, the same waste can be used as raw material for the production of building materials. However, creating material is not enough. It is also necessary to have a facility capable of printing them. Unfortunately, no significant domestic developments in this regard have yet been observed, with the exception of Andrei Rudenko's 3D printer. However, to date, the bulk of the work of Rudenko takes place in the United States, despite his desire to develop the project in Russia. Most likely, this follows from the banal lack of interest from the state and local business. Perhaps his talents could be useful in the joint development of a 3D-printing complex with Tver scientists?
