Posted: July 7, 2017 |
Good news! Apple is set to launch an update to the iOS 11 and iPhone app development companies are excited. Although the public will have to wait till the fall of 2017 to get it, we have experienced the beta version for iPhone and iPad, and we have been having fun with it. So, if you want to know what features, and changes the iPhone app development team will be introducing, just read on. 1. Redesigned Lock ScreenThe Lock Screen on the iOS 11 has been redesigned. You no longer need to have your Touch ID or a password set before you unlock your device. You can unlock your phone screen by swiping up. Also, the Lock screen and the Notification Center have been incorporated into one, and they carry out similar functions. As a result, to reveal all notifications, you can either swipe from the top of the screen or swipe up from the middle of the Lock Screen. 2. Redesigned Control CenterWe wanted it; now it is here. Apple now has a redesigned Control Center, and it is back to being just one page. The control center is now a second Home Screen. In terms of design, every tile has a dark background. Some of the tiles such as the toggles tile and the ‘Now Playing’ tile can be expanded to reveal more functionality. For example, as you 3D Touch the ‘Now Playing’ tile, you will gain access to audio outputs. Also, when expanded, the toggles tile shows more toggles, including Cellular Data and Personal Hotspot. With the refurbished Control Center, you can customize some features. From the settings, you can add or remove actions like Notes shortcut, Magnifier, Alarms, etc. With 3D touch, you can make changes for the control center without having to leave the apps you are using or jump into different setting screens. 3. Automatic App DeletioniPhone app development has taken a new turn. The new iOS has a feature that automatically deletes mobile applications you barely use, especially when you are running low on storage. The beautiful thing is that you still get to keep all the related documents and data. Amazingly, you can still revive the app. To do so, tap on the grayed out icon, and it will be restored. 4. Screen RecordingWith the iOS 11, you can conveniently capture everything you are doing on your phone’s screen. Tap on Screen Recording, and you will be able to record. To stop recording, tap on the blue bar on top. Typically, the video file will be saved in Photos app. 5. Do Not Disturb While Driving This feature is built on top of the ‘Do not Disturb’ and automatically engages whenever you are in your car. Notifications from everyone, except your favorite contacts are automatically disabled. Anyone who tries to contact you via iMessage will be notified that you are currently driving. When you unlock your phone by pressing the Home button, your Lock Screen now displays by sliding up to show the Home Screen. 6. The New and Improved SiriThe major problem with smart assistants at the moment is that you know you are talking about robots. They have stilted speech, and their dodgy enunciation easily gives them away. Apple wants to change that with iOS 11. Siri, your iPhone assistant, now has a more natural and less robotic voice. The new male Siri works the same way too. Siri has artificial intelligence. It watches as you browse, and automatically brings up things you may like from other mobile apps. Also, it pays attention what you do in mobile applications like Safari and suggests other actions. It can notify you to create a calendar event for a concert you booked in Safari. Siri now does translations. It automatically translates answers to Chinese, French, German, and Italian, and Spanish. Another exciting feature is that Apple now syncs your personal data and customized information in an encrypted form so that the Siri experience on all your devices are the same. 7. App Store RedesignThe App Store has been redesigned for the first time in its 9 years of existence. The app’s redesign looks more like the Apple News. There is “Today’ tab and also a “Games” tab with features you will like. In-app purchases are pulled out in the App Stores to enable you to show off new features in the store. The app store features in-depth interviews with Indian app developers, tips, and tricks for your favorite games, etc. 8. Automatic SetupIf you got a new iPhone running the iOS 11, you could easily copy over passwords, data, and apps from the old device. During setup, you will see the Automatic Setup Section To transfer data, bring the iPhone closer to the new one. 9. Drag and Drop on iPadWith the new iOS 11, you will be able to drag text, links, images, and files between the two apps when two apps are open side by side. 10. Redesigned Messages AppJust like other default apps, the Messages App has been redesigned. There is a large Messages tag at the far top of the messages view. The typography has also been updated with bolder titles across the app. 11. Live Photo Editing: mute, trim, Key PhotoYou can edit a live photo. You can now save it to Photos or Share it to any app with the share sheet when you are done. 13. One Handed KeyboardWith your iPhone 6 and above, you can tap and hold the Globe Key to place the keyboard to either side of the screen. Users can tap and hold the Globe key to dock the keyboard either to the left/right side of the screen, making it easier to type with one hand. 14.
