College – now that’s a word that induces excitement in teenagers, and nostalgia in grown-ups. It is undoubtedly the best time of an individual’s life, and one of the most defining spans of one’s life and career. College life, however, can best be evaluated by an existing real-time college student better than anyone else. If you are a college student, I’m sure you can relate, right?
So, I bet you will agree that it is not very easy to survive college life. Now this is true, everyone devises their own mechanisms to cope with the elaborate and exhausting aspects of college life. But as technology has advanced further, so much so that you have all the information known to man in a device that fits in your pocket. So why not use that device to help you tackle the different situations that might come up during your college life?
There are many phone applications that are custom-made for the college students who have trouble managing the different aspects of their college life. See if you too can find some of them useful:
- EasyBib: Once when I was in college, I was looking for someone to help me write my paper, when someone introduced me to EasyBib. This app helps you get the right citations for your essay. All you need to do is just enter the book title. They even have comprehensive citation guides, complete with visuals, to the various referencing formats, which are useful learning tools for college students. Citing sources for your essay has never been easier!
- Quora: One of the best apps so far. It’s a platform that lets you ask any question to the individuals using the platform. People from all over the world will be able to answer your questions, and you too can answer any given question on the platform. This platform is used worldwide even by many celebrities and online personalities, such as Jimmy Wales, the founder of Wikipedia.
- Duolingo: This app is the best language teacher. If you are learning a foreign language, or if you are planning to, then this app is your best friend. The best part? It is absolutely free, and there are various self-assessment options that can help you keep track of your progress. Right now, there are 23 languages that you can choose from.
- Self Control: It adds certain distracting websites to a blacklist that operates on a timer. If you add a website to this list, there is absolutely no way you can access it before the assigned time period runs out. Restart the application, delete it – nothing will help. Now that’s what I call a necessary evil!
- Dragon Dictation: This app is a boon for people who type slow, or are just too lazy to type an essay. This is voice recognition software that converts your voice to text. You might want to replace your research paper writing service with this app. Dragon Dictation is now used in healthcare equipment – yes, that’s how efficient it is! Even Apple’s Siri was developed using the same technology.
- Notella: One of the most useful apps for college students. We know how careless we can get, right? This app is the solution. It allows you to create instant notes, and is connected to other notes apps as well. It uses artificial intelligence and different analytical algorithms to provide instant feedback and improve your learning experience. The app will specifically target your weaknesses and give you tips to work on your skills.
- Mint: Mint is super useful for those who have trouble managing money. It keeps a track of all your lending, expenses and incomes, and shows you your current monetary value. It will help you create your budget, keep track your bills, and check credit scores. It is one app that will eliminate the need for using multiple platforms for payments.
- Venmo: This app lets you pay your money back to your friends or collect from your friends faster, by connecting to your bank account. You can even link your debit card to your Venmo account and split bills using this app. It is highly secure and trustworthy as it will encrypt your personal data and protect it on their servers.
- Pinterest: I guess we are all familiar with this. For those who don’t know this one yet, it’s an app that will provide inspirational quotes for you to get through your day. But the utility does not end there. Need gift ideas for your best friend’s birthday? Pinterest it. No idea what to make for dinner? Check Pinterest!
- Google play music/iTunes: Because, music can be the most powerful driving force and most potent healer. You will be able to play almost any song from their internet database without having to compromise on phone space.
